Zen Lucero is a Pacific Northwest artist whose work is inspired by the landscapes, wildlife, and quiet beauty of island life. Working primarily in watercolor and mixed media, he creates original pieces that blend observation, intuition, and imagination.
Drawing influence from the San Juan Islands and the natural world, Zen's paintings often explore themes of transformation, resilience, mystery, and connection. His work ranges from expressive wildlife and nature studies to symbolic and abstract compositions that invite personal interpretation. Rather than following rigid plans, he allows many paintings to evolve naturally, responding to the movement of water, color, and emotion throughout the creative process.
For Zen, art is both exploration and conversation—a way of capturing moments that are difficult to express with words alone. He believes that every viewer brings their own experiences to a painting, creating a unique connection with each piece.
Through his work, Zen hopes to inspire curiosity, reflection, and a renewed appreciation for the beauty that exists in both the natural world and the human experience.
