2026 Lopez Artist Guild Scholarship Announcement
The Lopez Island Artist Guild Shirley Wright Scholarship award for 2026 will go to Lopez High School graduate William (Jake) Jones. Jake will attend Central Washington University this fall to study Data Sciences and to continue his creative interests in art and design.
Traditional 2D ink and digital painting have been Jake’s focus this year. He also loves sculptural media including bonsai, aquascaping aquariums and diorama builds.
In the fall he is excited about an internship offer to process chum ikura (salmon roe) in Japan so he is headed for many new adventures. We wish you all the best Jake!
