Lopez Artist Guild 2019 Scholarship Recipient: Uma Anderson Chopra
A $1,000.00 Shirley Wright Scholarship for a Graduating High School Senior has been awarded by Lopez Artist Guild to Uma Anderson Chopra. She has created art all her life. She has focused on botanical drawing, figure studies, watercolor, batik, pottery and sculpture. This year she created a community art piece to "raise awareness of the impact our body image has on our lives." The project consists of three life size clay sculptures of women, multiple interviews, surveys and a paper on the psychological effects of body image. She wants women to feel more confident and strong in their bodies.

Uma will be graduating from Lopez High School and continuing on to Point of View Tattoo School in Portland.

The LAG Scholarship and Grant Committee along with the LAG Membership is proud to be able to award Uma this scholarship.
