Painting: Plein Air Painter in Pastels, Oils and Watercolor

“The transient effects of light and colors never fail my need for making emotionally-charged paintings, done with all senses on high alert. It’s a merry chase with the light – I arrive, absorb, study, draw and search for the perfect moment in time and place to capture, grab, nail-down . . . and never lose sight of those things as I paint.” Steve Hill works with landscape imagery and loves the immediacy of painting “in the moment”, via plein air. He has won many awards in local, regional and international juried fine art shows over the past 5 years, including the prestigious 24th Annual Chelsea International Juried Fine Arts Competition (August 2009) at Agora Gallery in New York City.
